In October 2020, with government restrictions in place and many people across the world working from home, we were asked by one of Europe’s leading alternative asset management firms, to help produce a virtual event to launch new core values and to celebrate the end of a year where Covid-19 had created many challenges.

As the main purpose of the event was to launch and communicate the company’s new corporate values, it was important that everything looked polished, on-brand and professional. Ensuring employees would be fully engaged in the launch was an absolute priority.



Our experienced event management team took care of delegate registration and also organised delivery of branded gift boxes to every person attending – 150 employees from the UK, US, South Africa and Luxembourg. The gifts, which all arrived in advance of the event, included a sustainable Chilli water bottle, branded with the company’s new values, plus nibbles to enjoy during the event – quite literally physically presenting the values to every employee and ensuring those values would be front and centre of their thoughts during the event.

Our in-house design and production team worked to our client’s brand guidelines to create holding slides and graphics that ensured smooth transitions between speakers and video content. And ahead of the event, our video production team visited our clients offices armed with cameras, microphones and green screen backdrop to film a tongue-in-cheek video that would be a key part of the event.

The virtual event was held over Zoom and we controlled and managed everything from the virtual studio at our HQ. Our technical team ensured everything ran smoothly, from transitions to audio cues to vision mixing the output. Importantly, rehearsal time had been built into the schedule so that those involved in the presentation knew what they were doing and when. With the support of our tech team, the speakers could focus on their presentations without concerning themselves about sharing their screens or video playback.

With the core values launched, it was time to relax and have fun. One of the highlights was a recital of a very different version of the famous poem ‘The Night Before Christmas’. Rewritten and performed by a colleague, it was a company-specific adaptation, which included a reference to various team members. Filmed by our videographer, we added a sequence of festive backgrounds for a fun and festive atmosphere.

Our client had also devised a quiz, which we managed, including providing virtual breakout rooms so that guests could work together in teams. Another interactive game included polls, where guests could decide on light-hearted questions, such as who of their colleagues, would be most likely to appear in a reality TV show.

Held over 2.5 hours, the event ran smoothly and without any technical hitches. With every detail taken care of and carefully managed throughout, the production values were as high as those of the ‘real’ corporate events we create.
